Meet the Author

Christina Walker

Christina Walker is a Family Nurse Practitioner who has worked in health care for over twenty years. She was born with a congenital condition requiring invasive surgery early on, because of this, she has felt a strong pull to write a book specifically for children and families who may be faced with similar situations. Christina has a passion for creating stories for children to explore their feelings and ultimately feel empowered while dealing with health issues or surgery. Struggle, relief, making difficult decisions and overcoming challenges is part of the human experience that we all share. She seeks to bring forth strength and hope in these often uncomfortable moments — inviting space for discussion around individual feelings and each child’s unique story.

Christina lives in northern California with her husband.  She loves hiking, finding quiet beautiful beaches for walking and resting, and most importantly, enjoying the company of her beloved family and friends.
